One of the best hotels on the river, the Shangri-La has two wings, both of which offer great water views. Rooms are five-star standard: tastefully designed and immaculate. The pool is spacious and excellently located on the banks of the Chao Phraya, but as with all riverside locations, the noise from the boat traffic can be a bit tedious. The service is impeccable and the hotel is home to a range of excellent restaurants. If this is your budget range, Shangri-La is a fine choice and is also walking distance to BTS Saphan Taksin, making it easy to zip around the rest of the city. Rooms in the Krung Thep wing all face the river and have an elegant interior, ideal for romantics.
