Swan Hotel
No ugly duckling - great value!

What we say:
For location and price, the Swan is hard to beat in the Silom area. A u-shaped building set around a swimming pool, the double rooms are well sized, light and airy, and though the singles feel a bit small and dark for the price, they are perfectly clean and adequate. The fittings, beds included, are very well aged, so don't expect glam — the hotel has been around since 1965 and one of the chairs in one room we were shown looked to be an original! The hotel is popular and we found the staff to be very helpful and generous with their time despite obviously being very busy. One note, as with any property on Charoen Krung, touts are at plague proportions — so have your wits about you if anyone approaches you on the street. Ideal for families on a budget. Recommended.

very good
Payed 1000 B for a single room with aircon, tv and minibar including american breakfast. Nice, clean room. Hot water only until 10 am and from 6 pm but lukewarm during the day so enough to shower after the pool. The pool is nice but in the shade after 3pm. Very friendly staff. Very good location, near the ferry, Skytrain and many shops.Recommended
