Rose Hotel
Refurbished and good mid range value

What we say:
For the location, at the eastern end of Surawong Rd, just a short walk from Silom Rd, the refurbished Rose Hotel is a good value mid range property, with surprisingly comfortable, well put-together rooms. Further sweetening the deal is a good Thai restaurant, a compact gym and a surprisingly secluded swimming pool. Designed in a contemporary Asian style, the rooms are spacious, with semi-firm beds and clean bathrooms. Although the hotel is set down a small soi off Surawong Rd, the rooms on the Surawong side of the building still do catch a little noise, so if you're a light sleeper, request a room on the other side of the building. The internet facilities are a quite basic, with a couple of computers in the lobby serving as the only way to get online. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, and, being a smallish hotel (it has just 72 rooms) it has a more welcoming vibe than you'll find at the larger, better known Bangkok properties. Discounted rates available online.
