Happy House

Very happy restaurant downstairs

One of the newer backpacker lodges on Soi Chanasongkhram, Happy House is between Wild Orchid Villa and Phra Athit Rd and has stock standard small concrete rooms with clean bathrooms and reasonable beds. The linen was clean when we checked but this place is very new. Downstairs there is a popular restaurant for guests and outsiders alike. Happy House is a short walk from the Chao Phraya River Express and a ten minute stroll from Khao San Rd. There is little to differentiate this place from Wild Orchid next door. A discount off the published rates below was going when we visited, for guests who paid multiple days in advance.

A happy place to stay - near Khao San Road but not too near... - 13th May, 2009
We stayed at Happy House Guest House for five nights recently and were very pleased. It's one of the only guesthouses where we didn't see any bugs in the room! The room was small but had lovely decoration and a set of shelves which was a nice touch. The downstairs restaurant offers a good variety and the staff are kind enough to bring your food to your room if you prefer. The only downside is that they don't have any internet facility though there is a very good one only a few steps away. The location itself is good - only 5-7 minutes from Khao San Road (by foot) but with lots of vendors, restaurants and cafes nearby. There's a 7-11 just downstairs and lots of places to buy breakfast, snacks, etc, within a 2 minute walk. It's also only 5 minutes from a ferry stop which is handy for getting around. When we return to Bangkok, we will be back at Happy Guest House!

Im so Happy with Happy House! :) - 30th December, 2009
I Love this place..its where I always stay when staying in Bangkok. The location is great, close to busy Khao San Road, but the side street is quaint, and quiet. The staff are amazing, nice and so helpful. The rooms are clean, and great for the price. I love the spa for massage across the street, and internet cafes are steps away. The food downstairs is great, I love the new coffee house in the front! Great place to stay in Bangkok!

great place for stay near Khao San Road - 20th February, 2009
I have stayed here several times, and sent a few friends to stay here as well. I really like this place...its clean , the staff are nice and helpful, and the rooms are new compared to some of the other places in this neighborhood. One of the best things also is the location, down a ( somewhat) quiet alley, ( nothing is too quiet in this neighborhood!) close by the action, but more tucked away to get some sleep! And its right across from the best massage/spa, love that place. I stay here every time I pass thru bangkok...recommmended!!

basic room - 22nd July, 2007
I slept there just for 1 night in double room with fan and shared bathroom. Arrived there at 0100am my friends were sleepy and tired so we decided to stay there. Overall the room is basic,it cost 250 bath.

good choice - 17th December, 2006
Only 5-10mins from Khao San and 5 min away from the riverboat stop. Room was little dark but clean.Stuff was friendly but not as much helpful as I needed on my first stay in Bangkok. The restaurand was very good. If you like to be notso close to the party zone Khao San than it is a good choice. Will stay again here but would recomend a upperfloor room because my room ws abit dark...
