What we say:

We arrived here to see a fruit exchange with the two Japanese guests giving pappaya in thanks with the desk staff giving them bananas — all to allround smiles. While most guesthouses in Banglamphu emphasise plain walls, ordinary bedding, and generic toilet fixtures, the Bhiman seems to have taken the time to select decent accoutrements that they thought would look good. The bedding is far superior to the tattered blankets found elsewhere but the rooms are not the biggest in the area and come with air-con, TV, fridge and, somewhat oddly, mirrored doors. Regardless, it seems to work, the staff are friendly, there is a small swimming pool with a haldful of deskchairs overlooking the khlong and a rooftop sunbaking deck is open from 3pm to 6pm daily. Smoking rooms carry a 100B surcharge and the 200B surcharge for breakfast is skippable. You could do far worse.

Good -- but not worth the $$$

There is nothing wrong with Bhiman Inn. We stayed here our first night in Bangkok, because they accept reservations, which many of the guest houses do not. However, there was nothing in particular to separate its rooms or service from that of a guest house, and the price difference is huge (here it cost two to three times more).

Boutique hotel with small pool

Clean and well run. The pool is small but great - not much sun on it however. It has a klong along the back and a nice open feeling restaurant. 24 hour security.
