Description
New Central is only about a block away from Khao San, but the location is more Thai style than Farang, with kids on bicycles and families doing wash quite common sights. If you get a room with a balcony on one of the higher floors you will get a great view of the shanty-town style neighbourhood and the golden stupa from a nearby wat. Mr. Charlie, the head of the family that owns New Central is very accommodating, allowing as many guests to crash in a room as you like, and negotiating prices if you wish to stay longer, if its really slow, or if you put forth some other reasonable argument. Rooms with balconies get great breezes, while rooms without windows can get stuffy during the hot season.
