This used to be Chart Guesthouse but has rebranded under the Four Sons brand. The rooms are ok size and many of the rooms have large TVs hanging off the ceiling above the foot of the bed -- be careful not to whack your head. There are two choices of rooms -- the cheaper ones at the rear or the ones at the front that have their own balconies. A note on the rooms with balconies, be sure to keep your veranda door locked as it is easy to climb from one to another. There is a large, good restaurant downstairs that plays movies regularly. The staff are friendly, if a little clueless.

Four Sons Village reviews

Good location - 8th February, 2007
We moved to this one after spending a night on Khao San. Still only a short walk to all the action if you want to party, but none of the noise if you are suffering from said partying. Staff are very helpful, but this is a busy place so if you want one-on-one attention this isn't the one for you. We left our laptop at the desk every day and it was returned to us every night safe and sound. Also close to Gecko Bar, which has the cheapest beer in town.

great food, great place - 27th March, 2009
A wonderful basic place with some of the best food I have eaten in Thailand. Conveniently located close to the express boat pier, far enough from and still close to Khao San Road if you need it and surprisingly quiet. Soi Chanasongkhram is the place to be if you look for a/c and hot shower around 500 baht in a laid back atmosphere. We paid 480 for a room looking out on the rear of Four Sons Village. It was basic but clean, all you need. But test the a/c (ours was a bit noisy) and the beds. For us it was more than okay. The house was quiet at nights. At first glance the staff seems to be the usual indifferent Khao San style, doing their thing in a rather stone-faced manner. But if you stay for more than one night, behave halfway decently and know how to smile the impression will change. Especially when you appreciate their food which is just great. The menu is huge, take your time. WeŽve compared to pricey and/or famous Bangkok restaurants like the ''Cabbages & Condoms'' and found Four Sons Village at least equal if not better. Ask for original Thai style preparation, it really wonŽt hurt that much and the waiters will love you. At first they would go like ''ah, you canŽt eat this, too spiceee!'' but when we did we received really nice, attentive treatment during the next four days. Eat as much as you can! The travel agengy connected to Four Sons Village is not recommendable. The guy tried to charge us 3750 baht for a flight to Samui. Just walk over to the internet cafe they provide and book it online for 2750. Same for bus trips. All in all: great place, IŽll come back for sure.

One of the best options in Khao San area - 26th April, 2008
In our opinion, Four Sons is one of the best options in the Khao San area. Good value, with air-con, TV, hot shower. Lots of rooms come with nice balcony, but this side of the building is a little bit noisy. Rooms are very clean. The staff are friendly. Sometimes they have good promotions (150B discount for the twin room with balcony). Location is very good, close to Khao San Road and Chao Phraya Express boat. They have a good kitchen, but a little bit pricey (except beers).

Good value - 6th January, 2008
Stayed in double with air-con, private bathroom, in January 2008. Rooms are characterless but large enough to open a suitcase in, and seem to be kept clean. The bathrooms have windows that open onto the corridor, for those who really like to share. The shower is hot but pressure is low. No-frills accomodation, but better value than many in the area.

Nothing to shout about - 23rd June, 2007
I paid 500B for a double room with balcony (air-con and hot shower) at Four Sons. Rooms are clean, facilities good, location is quiet. However, staff are not so friendly (bottomline friendliness), no lift (if you stay on the 4th or 5th floor, you must have a strong legs) and you must pay a 500B deposit upfront (refunded when you check out).
