What we say:

Housed in the grounds of a former royal residence, the Chakrabongse Villas are every traveller's dream of what living in Bangkok used to be like. The Chakrabongse Villas are located along the Chao Phraya just south of the Grand Palace and are comprised of several buildings, including the original house that was built in 1908, as well as a traditional teak house brought in later. The double rooms are decorated (inexplicably, honestly) in a Moroccan-style, but the suites are all Thai or Thai-Chinese inspired and quite flash — especially the Thai house, contained in a self-standing teak structure. The rooms have all the mod-cons expected of a five-star property, as well as the use of the house's library, lovely pool and gardens. It's a beautiful place to stay, and if we had the cash, we'd never leave. Riverside dining is available, as well as river transport.
