Sawasdee Khaosan Inn

The airport bus stops right out front

This sparkling guesthouse has a trendy restaurant, a bookstore, internet cafe, travel agent, tattoo parlour and a range of rooms -- some of which are very well-sized and which even still have that new room smell; it's a mini Khao San microcosm. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. A top choice although the prices aren't quite as reasonable as they once were, but the airport bus stops right out front.

Not worth a night - 14th August, 2007
Nothing on Khao San Road is worth a night, and this place is nothing different than nothing else. Avoid this area, it's a tourist hole.

Sawasdee Bangkok Inn - 17th December, 2009
The hotel 2 minutes away from Sawasdee Khaosan Inn (the same chain). The least friendly staff I met during my 2 week stay in Thailand. The hotel is old and not so clean, prices - a bit overrated. You will survive but not especially enjoy it. Good loacation if you want to stay at Khao San Rd.

Noisy but convenient - 12th December, 2009
This place in very convenient as the airport bus drops you right outside. There are a variety of rooms. We stayed in a double, air-con room which was fine. The bathroom was okay, though the door would not shut. The room also had a large fridge which was good. The only problem was it was very noisy at night-time. Music form Koh San Road can be heard here till about 2am. If you are looking for somewhere quieter than go a few roads away from Koh San and you can find cheaper and quieter accommodation.

Very unfriendly - 28th January, 2007
Stayed at Sawasdee Khaosan last week -- unfriendly staff, dirty -- especially the restaurant staff for the morning buffet, who were more interested in watching TV than refilling the coffee and milk. The rooms were very plain and smaller than average for the price.

A great place - 5th July, 2004
A litle bit more expensive then your average backpacker place, but very good value for money. The ideal choice for your first couple of days in Bangkok
