Kawin Place

An off-the-strip option

Set off Khao San Road behind the Khao San Central Restaurant and Bar, Kawin Place is a reasonably quiet, very central location. The rooms are pretty well sized though some could do with a coat of paint to take a year's worth of fingerprints off the wall. The bathrooms are a little on the pokey side, but are otherwise clean. Some rooms are quite stinky so check out a couple rooms before selecting a room. Discounts are available for longer stays.

Kawin Place reviews

OK room, rude receptionnist - 11th January, 2010
I was quite disappointed by Kawin Place. The room was just fine, it waas clean, the bathroom was ok, but the air conditionning unit was leaking water, so there was a wet towel on the floor when we checked in. Free wifi in the lobby was nice too. However, the receptionnists working there were totally unhelpful and most importantly, rude, never smiled or barely said hello. There is a travel desk on the reception area, but you wonder why since the girl behind her desk is playing with her cell phone and you feel you're going to disturb her if you ask something. You can see the owner spent some money for this place (clean and nice common area), but they should really hire better staff!
