All of Top's rooms, while pretty plain fare, are clean and reasonably quiet due to the hidden-away location on a soi between Khao San Rd and Trok Mayom. From the outside the place looks cute and cosy, unlike many generic guest houses in the neighbourhood. However, all the rooms are basically the same, undecorated white, yet brightly lit rooms, whether they are fan, air-con, TV or not. Go for a room higher up if available, they get a nice breeze. Unusually friendly staff is a nice perk.

just OK - not the top - 11th January, 2007
We intended to go back to the very good Shambara guesthouse, but there was no place. We founded on 2 januari at 6 am a room in Top Guesthouse. The woman-manager was very helpfull. This guesthouse is OK, but certainly not the top. The room and shower/toilet are clean, but without the charm of Shambara. Towels could be cleaner. The room in the rear was extremely noisy. So, Top is ok for a short stay.
