What we say:

Set right next to the river and along a bicycle path in a quiet locale with its own pier at the east end of Bang Nam Phueng village, this homestay boasts simple but inviting rooms in an old Thai wood house beside the river. Rooms come only with fans, basic shared bathrooms and mattresses on the floor draped in mosquito nets, but big windows with immediate river views help to brighten things up. There's no WiFi, but bicycles can be rented for 50 baht per day and breakfast and dinner are included in the price (lunch costs extra but is reasonably priced). Bang Nam Phueng Homestay is an excellent choice for budget travellers looking to laze by the river for a while.
