Sala Thai Daily Mansion
A mellow place with a nice vibe

What we say:
At the end of the Soi, sitting under towering palm trees, is Sala Thai Guesthouse. Staff here are friendly, if a little unenthusiastic when showing guests around the neat and tidy premises — you might have to do some shouting to get their attention if there's no one relaxing on the front porch. Inside the building lighting is a little dim, however a nice surprise is the roof garden — a great place to spend a lazy afternoon. If you want to enjoy the peacefulness of this Soi, but nearby places are too rustic, then Sala Thai is worth considering, particularly as rooms are bright, airy, and quiet.

Lots of little touches, but you pay for them
We ended up at Sala Thai after our first choice (Madame's) was full. The guy who showed us around was very uniterested and the rates have gone up considerably since travelfish were there. We paid 400 for the fan room, he was asking 500. It was a very nice room, lots of nice furniture and the bed (mattress on the floor) was comfy enough. They provide drinking water and towels and also a t.v. room (landing area more like) but this was being used as a laundry drying area while we were there! Shared bathroom was just ok, cold water. Conclusion, nice place to stay with thoughtful extras but be prepared to pay for them.
