Lub d
A flashpacker option with great access to the BTS

What we say:
A relatively new arrival on the scene, this guesthouse is an increasingly popular choice for those looking for the hostel experience in Siam. Lub-d uses clever design and a hip aesthetic to reel in flashpackers looking for an alternative to the hotel experience. Unusual for downtown Bangkok, Lub d offers standard single, double and twin rooms, as well as dorm beds both mixed and separate. Clearly, a great deal of thought has been put into the building's atmosphere and the look and feel throughout is clean, fresh and modern. What the rooms lack in space, they make up in thoughtful design features, such as power outlets next to the top bunks of dorm beds. The shared bathroom facilities are some of the slickest you'll ever come across in a hostel. On the ground floor there is a games area, a small internet cafe area and the helpful front desk staff are brimming with suggestions for things to do — just ask. Book online for discounts.

The rooms and common wash rooms are really clean as they are cleaned several times a day. They have all the facilities you could ever want and even a in-house tourist info. Not the cheapest hostel around, but still really great value for your baht. It is location exactly beside the BTS National Stadium and opposite MBK shopping center. Transportation is a breeze to anywhere you want to go. Bus, Skytrain, taxi, tuk-tuk and moto-taxi right at your doorstep. Just outside the hostel, are some tasty hawker stalls that serve local coffee, food and grilled stuffs pretty much from 6 am to 1 am. If you walk to siam paragon, there will be a lot more. MBK, Siam Discovery, Siam Paragon, Central World and others within walking distance. Great massage parlours in Siam Square (not all family friendly). Also a 7-11 if you want some beer (no sale of alcohol before 5 pm). Around the corner is a money exchange with wicked rates. Great if you are packing with your buddies. Not so great for couples. You can meet new friends if you are feeling chatty, but generally not the best hostels to make friends. It's the best overall hostel I ever been to (although not my favorite). And yes, I would recommend.
