Siam@Siam Hotel and Spa
Luxurious and creative

What we say:
A stone's throw away from National Stadium BTS station in the ritzy Siam Square shopping district, Siam@Siam is a unique non-chain high-end hotel that we found difficult to fault (apart from the weird email-sounding name that is).
With just over 200 rooms spanning 26 floors, it's not a small hotel, but every corner of it seems to have been carefully thought out. A funky, perhaps 'neo-gothic' design theme uses a lot of deep reds, oranges and violets; for us, it called to mind lava-spewing volcanoes, Transylvania castles or the surface of the planet Jupiter. While not for everyone, we reckon the creative younger set will appreciate it.
Cosy rooms come with texture-heavy modern artwork, soft carpeting, comfy beds, free WiFi, air-con, soft lighting, stylish bathrooms, flat-screen TVs that are perched off to the side rather than in the centre, desks, lock-boxes and fridges. Large windows help to offset the dark colours by bathing interior spaces with light, and this holds true for common areas too. The standard "leisure class" rooms offer adequate space for two, while a couple of larger room-types are available for families and groups.
The rooms are great, but Siam@Siam really shines when it comes to the extras. The building features a lavish eleventh floor spa, fitness centre with robust new equipment, an inviting "hang-out" lounge area in the spacious lobby, ample computers in a free internet station, a somewhat secluded infinity pool with great views, and no less than seven eating and drinking options that include a lively ground floor pub with live bands and DJs at night, a sushi bar, a wine and champagne bar and a roof-top Thai-European fine dining spread with choice of air-con or outdoor seating. Staff divulged to us that the best rates are usually found on Agoda.com, and indeed our search yielded significant discounts off the walk-in rates.
