JW Marriott Bangkok
More of a business choice

What we say:
The Marriott is located at the very beginning of Sukhumvit Road, about halfway between Nana and Phloenchit BTSs. The hotel has beautifully designed rooms done out in a contemporary Thai style and the staff are professional. The Marriott is more popular with business travellers than tourists and tour groups but boasts all the mod-cons it's supposed to have with a price tag to match. A fine deal if you can get a discount by booking online, but the rack rats are steep. Equally appealing are the Marriot Spa and the hotel's restaurants: New York Steak House, Tsu sushi bar, and Nami teppan yaki. BBC bakery on the Sukhumvit side of the hotel has excellent salads and sandwiches that are 50% off after 18:00.

Full Service Marriott/Members A
This was my first trip to Thailand so I played it safe for the most part. I used 25,000 Marriott points each night at this hotel. Got a discount a once for booking a week. I stayed a total of 14 nights here. It is actually one of the best Full Service Marriott's beating some of the nicest ones in the USA. The staff speaks excellent English and is very helpful in writing Thai instructions should you need them. It is near two BTS stops and is quite and has free Wi-Fi down in the lobby. I had no problems logging on with my iPod to check email and send email. It was a bit to slow for doing browsing with; however, I used it a few times to book and use my points at the very same hotel. If you want to do more browsing on the internet there are many internet cafes in Thailand. One in the Nana Center Mall along with some inexpensive clean food if you can not handle street vendor food. The rooms are quite big and of course very clean. While I rate this hotel very high, I would not personally have stayed more then a night or two if I was paying for it. I stayed because I used Marriott Reward points. Note: Just because I would never give a 10 on anything they do not get a 10. The 7 on location is due to the fact if you walk down towards the Nana Station BTS in the evening you will run across a variety of working girls and lady boys. I do not judge them everyone has to eat, just pointing out that Nana Entertainment (not family entertainment) is just one street over. Romance I just put 4 I would image it is romantic if you are in love with someone, but think there are more romantic places to go in Thailand then Bangkok. On Value 5 I am judge on if I was paying and not using points. It was a 9 using points and really if my company was paying it would also be a 9, but if I was paying I would only stay a day or two at the most because it is quite expensive and you can find nice places for a lot less.
