Description
This hotel has spacious, well-designed rooms in a comfortable and professional setting, making it a good business and family option. A great range of eating options, including the fun and lively Senior Picos Mexican Restaurant, are spread within the hotel -- drawing expats in the know -- and some rooms have excellent views. The pool area is a little exposed and can get a tad windy but compliments the grassy tanning area, which is a respite from the concrete jungle beyond the hotel walls. Next door, the Rembrandt Serviced Apartments cater to longer term stays. With prices seemingly fixed for the past three years, it is becoming even more of a bargain.

Royal Parkview Hotel
19/9 Sukhumvit Soi 20, Bangkok
Located about half way down Sukhumvit Soi 20, the Royal Parkview is a popular spot with mid range tour groups, in a large part due to the very competitive rates for its reasonable but fading rooms with funky smells. The location is pretty central, about a ten minute walk from Asok BTS and a 15... more

Admiral Suites
38, 38/14 Sukhumvit Soi 22, Bangkok
These are serviced apartments in a popular, though slightly touristy area. If you are planning a longer stay there are better options for the money involved, but for a shorter visit the Admiral Suites is a good alternative to a hotel. The rooms are clean and many appear to be newly renovated. The... more

M Park Avenue Bangkok
30 Sukhumvit Soi 22, Bangkok
Another branch of the chain of Grand Mercure Hotels, M Park Avenue had a renovation in 2005 that still looks new. An elegant lobby has an adjoining lounge bar and restaurant, while the level 7 pool -- half shady and half sunny -- has another restaurant with a modest view. The rooms are... more

Ariston Hotel
19 Sukhumvit Soi 24, Bangkok
The Ariston is an aging three star hotel, but unlike many in its class the rooms are not musty smelling, the beds have clean, white linen and are lacking the funky-fuzzy blankets found in many other hotel rooms, and the pool is actually large enough to spring off the diving board, do some laps, and... more
