Siam Hotel
Neat digs, fresh rooms

What we say:
Since the Siam is a bit of a walk from the train station and main bus stop it probably doesn't get as much business as the Mitr Paisal, but don't let that deter you -- the rooms are a bit fresher than in the city's other hotels, with new-looking beds and dresser units with extremely large mirrors. Rooms also have cable-TVs with some English-laungage channels. The hotel is just off Ratchadamnoen Rd to the west of the Chedi, more-or-less opposite the 7-Eleven.

Well; fresh
is kind of a weird word regarding to rooms last updated in the 60's. Fan rooms go for 250 Baht; rooms are basic; mattresses are plastic coated and it is better not to look underneath the beds. But the rooms in the back are quiet;the bathroom is clean and for one night the place is adequate. Great food stalls open up in the evening just around the corner. A motorcycle ride from the railway station is 15 Baht.
