Mitr Paisal Hotel
Good mid-range choice

What we say:
Two things stand out like a pair of mismatching sore thumbs when you arrive in Nakhon Pathom - one is the Chedi, the other is the Mitr Paisal Hotel. It's a whole five storeys of mid-range accommodation close to the station to the north of the Chedi. All rooms have bathrooms and the air-con rooms also have baths. If you're willing to part with an extra 40B you can also have hot water. There's also images of waterfalls and country scenes wallpapered around the rooms taking you right back to 1983. There's a small cafe and shop downstairs -- a good place to have breakfast before heading out for the day. The Mitr Paisal is owned by the same people that run the Mitr Samphan Hotel.

Quirky rooms, unfriendly staff
This has to be one of the strangest hotels I've ever stayed at. Rooms were decent value but they feel like they're right out of some late '70s mob movie. Weird green carpet, strange chandilier, faded waterfall scenes all over the walls... It seemed clean at first but we did see a few cockroaches in the bathroom. The staff were EXTREMELY unfriendly/unhelpful. When our air-con didn't work the guy (there are two guys who lounge around all day and gawk at women) got all pissed off and it took him 20 minutes to get off the couch and come upstairs. Later, we asked him for water (was in a locked fridge) at 21.30 (9:30PM) and he just looked over from his couch and yelled ''Closed!'' While the location is nice, it was not a pleasant stay.

Don't stay here
The room wasn't too bad but the men who worked there made me sick. Getting leered at and harrassed by a group of staff every time you leave your room isn't exactly my idea of good service. If you're a woman then stay somewhere else. Even if you're not, this place doesn't deserve any business
