ChababaanCham Resort
Stylish and romantic

What we say:
This small resort is located on the south side of the canal a short walk east of the market. Its elegant rooms might be worth the extra baht, especially for couples seeking a romantic and comfy spot to unwind. All rooms are set back from the canal behind the open-air lobby/restaurant, with standards facing a pleasant open veranda with couches and tables. While not huge, the standards are tastefully designed with dark hardwood floors, polished concrete walls, green, purple, yellow and blue stained glass windowpanes surrounding larger regular glass windows, and spacious en suite bathrooms. The VIP rooms further back are a big step up for not too much more money thanks to a far more private setting, open-air rooftop lounges with hammocks large enough for two and luscious open bathrooms with sun showers and bamboo doors. Air-con, TVs, WiFi, fridges and coffee/tea makers come standard in all rooms, and breakfast is included in the room rate. Booking ahead of time is an absolute must if arriving on a Friday or Saturday, and note that prices jump extra high on the latter.
