Green View Guest House
A secluded plantation

What we say:
The Green View has the mossy green feel of an abandoned plantation, which is fitting because no staff could be found on our first try. Tucked away on a leafy lane off Maenam Kwai Road, it's surrounded by an overgrown forest of banana palms and mango trees, and this is the only place with a true "back to nature" feel on the east side of the river. Despite the seclusion, the traveller strip is only a five-minute walk away. Bungalows are set around a garden and shaded by tall trees. The paint is chipped and faded, but it looks more charming than rundown. Rooms are sizeable, with high ceilings, big bathrooms, plenty of windows and a small dressing area. The antique beds are a little hard, but add to the feel of staying in an old farmhouse. There is also a large restaurant but it doesn't seem to be open (even when the staff is around). Overall, it's not bad value and offers a wonderful feeling of seclusion without an actual isolated location. It's probably best to call ahead to ensure someone will be around when you arrive.

Quiet, clean and comfy
Green View is in a good location - near the bars and restaurants etc but with the added bonus that it is 2 minutes off the main road meaning it is very quiet. Staying on the river front we could not sleep because of the noise but here there was no noise here (its on the other side from the river!). The bed was extremely comfortable and large and the room was clean. We did not eat here, there did not seem to anybody around - but that is okay because there are so many places to eat nearby.
