Rainbow Lodge
Literally a rainbow of bungalows

What we say:
The seven brightly coloured bungalows at Rainbow Lodge perch crowded together on a hilltop over the river. Fan rooms are a bit dingy and you'll have to either sacrifice a TV in favour of hot water or vice versa, but they are cheap. Air-con rooms are small and have an odd selection of furniture, but TVs and hot water are included and they have a sort of small cottage charm. The glass-fronted VIP rooms at the water's edge have great views over the river to go with TVs and fridges but are way overpriced given their size. This is a family-run spot and the owners are sincere, friendly and determined to please. They offer free pick-up from the bus or train stations, free WiFi and discounts on stays for more than a night. They also run a cooking school with reasonable rates. While the rooms aren't spectacular, the staff do a lot to make up for it and the location is quiet with particularly good river views, but not too far from the main traveller strip.

just fine.
I satyed in a double room with fan. It was a little bit run down. The coach was broken and the matress was quite hard. You'll need a mosquito net as windows and front door do not fit and leave some holes. Still I was charged 150B for it, for some low season offer or something.

Bit run down
Staff friendly and helpful. Free internet for guests was great. Breakfast not good value but lunch/dinner was good. Room bit run down, couch completely broken so could not sit comfortably.Bed in loft was cool, but needed mozzie net as holes to outside round windows etc. 350 B and was supposed to get discount with the flyer from train station (said this on flyer) but no discount.

not too great
Stayed here for 1 night. The place was deserted and the room was small and a bit run down. On the plus side, it was very clean. We ended up moving to another guesthouse for two more nights.
