Description
The Felix River Kwai is Kanchanaburi's premier resort. Though fairly characterless, it has none of the tackiness of other local resorts, and accommodation is of a very high standard. All rooms areclean and well presented with lovely warm colours and views of either the tropical gardens or the river. It has a great location on a beautiful bend in the river, and boasts the most attractive swimming pool in town. In addition to two pools, there are two restaurants, several bars, a fitness centre as well as the usual collection of tour operator desks and gift shops in the reception area. However, it seems a bit rich to ask guests to pay extra for snooker, tennis and the sauna, given the room rates. This is a safe and comfortable choice for those used to five-star treatment and advanced booking over the internet will get you a 30% discount and even more if you go for one of their luxury suites. Note that there are often big conferences taking place here, which can push their occupancy rates higher than the 50% average, so do check beforehand if this is something you want to avoid. All room prices include breakfast.
