What we say:

The aging Muangchan Hotel is nothing short of an eyesore from the outside, but its budget rooms are relatively well-kept. Typical of old-school Thai hotels like this one, fan rooms are basic with old tile floors and springy beds. Air-con rooms offer TVs and hot water showers and are significantly more inviting. Located along busy Benchamarachuthis Road near the corner of Khwang Road, the hotel gets a lot of noise from passing traffic but the location is close to the gem shops and old town. Though it could be worse, we couldn't see staying at Muangchan unless nearby River Guest House is full.
