Tampang Beach Resort
For the young and loud

What we say:
Tampang Beach Resort is one of three guesthouses on the west side of the island, and the only one on Tham Phang beach. While higher-priced Sripitsanu Bungalows and Paree Huts are secluded, Tampang Beach Resort touches shoulders with the beach restaurants. Don't expect to have quiet nights gazing out at the sea, as Tampang is made for young and loud groups who want beachside access on the cheap, with one room fitting up to 12 people. The mark down in price probably has to do with the fact that most rooms lack air-con and hot water, but all have fans, decent beds with worn sheets, and decks outside. Some rooms are part of a unit, while others are private bungalows, and prices range accordingly. The layout of the resort is nonsensical at times, and a shame given the prime real estate. The on-site restaurant doesn't seem like much from the outside, but it serves up delicious and fresh seafood. Staff are accommodating and willing to bargain.
