Pineapple Beach Resort
A secluded getaway
What we say: 
Follow the signs of painted pineapples from Nadan (turn left near the police station), and you'll reach Pineapple Beach Resort, a secluded getaway of bungalows scattered throughout a sprawling scrub forest. The grounds are so quiet they have an air of abandonment, though the accommodation is well kept and fairly smart. The concrete and wooden tin-roofed bungalows have private bathroom and fan, and all look out over the sea towards the mainland. Although the beach here is rocky there is a little patch of sand, so you can get into the water easily. The staff are friendly, though always a little shocked at the arrival of guests. The well-appointed restaurant does Thai and limited Western food. It's a very pleasant spot, but probably boring for some. For such an out-of-the-way place they do have some nice touches — visitors receive a free Pineapple postcard.
