Mossman House
Seconds from the sand

What we say:
Metres before you reach the park entrance sits this bright yellow block of rooms. Service is simple and efficient; they'll also change money for you and arrange onward trips. Rooms are to the rear in the two-storey guesthouse. Each one is immaculate and is good value. The beach is 100 metres away. Staying here can also be advantageous if you are really on a budget. Once you've checked in and left your bags in the room, guards at the park tend to think you've already paid your 200B entry fee and so let you pass through the entrance, which makes for a good saving if there is a group.

good deal for koh samet
I stayed here for a couple of nights and it was ok bearing in mind it was during the weekend (1000 baht per night for aircon, but try to bargain to get to that price). The room had a fridge as well and was very spacious, clean and well kept. The only downturn is that it´s close to the main road and a local karaoke. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, etc nearby and the guards don´t seem to ask for the entrance fee to the ''park''.
