Lost Resort
Away from it all

What we say:
To reach this spacious hotel you'll need to take the main road that leads away from the beach at Sea Breeze. Set back from the road in a quiet forest of towering trees, it's hard to imagine you're 5 minutes from the sea. The rooms are carefully appointed with decorative linens and bamboo furniture, though the Strawberry Shortcake drapes keep the rooms from being too stylish. Rooms are comfortable, and include daily maid service. The Lost Resort is near enough to the action on the beaches, but far enough away to escape the disco noise. It does tend to attract whiskey-drinking-into-the-night Thai guests at weekends. Discounts are offered for longer stays. The owner may be English but the staff's command of the language is sketchy at best. This is still one of the better budget deals on the island.

Great Photo but Sub-Par Resort
The photo on this site's profile looks really nice. But when you see this place in real life, it doesn't look anything like the photo. The room itself was fine, but for the price it wasn't worth it. No water pressure in the showers. The location is so-so, it's a close walk to the beach but the resort is by itself in the middle of nowhere. And not in a funky cool backpacker way. There is no vibe at all here. There's no place to hangout, no pool, no bar, no restaurant, just a few rooms. But they are renovating so it might be okay sometime soon.

Nice and quiet
I've stayed here for a long weekend, 3 nights, as a getaway from BKK. Ao Phai is a great party/hangout beach at night and a bit 'crowded' during the day, go to tubtim for the quiet beach which is just the next beach and a 3 minute walk. The Lost Resort is nice, the english manager is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. I think they standard have 1 double and 1 single bed in the room. Water (daily), toiletpaper and soap is provided. The bathroom is very clean too. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, not right at the beach, but actually, at the beach it is all loud with music at night and when you walk up to your room it is soo quiet and peaceful. Good combination i would say. There is some breakfast available (no menu?) but this was way too expensive, standard english breakfast was 150 per person (for 2 slice of toast, bacon and a fried egg, no drinks) So, don't do breakfast here, just go to the beach. I guess they are still renovating this place, there is a little bar area that is not really in use, can have more potential than it does now. I would stay here again, though i still prefer a bungalow right on the beach.
