Viking Holiday Resort
Stylish Thai-Nordic lodge

What we say:
With skis mounted on the walls and Thai sculptures scattered throughout the lounge, Swedish-owned Viking Holiday Resort comes off as a little schizophrenic. The pretty yellow bungalows however are comfortable and well styled, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. This place is extremely popular, so book ahead. Discounts for longer stays.

10/10 for friendliness
Likes: friendliness of staff, cleanliness, decor, well set-up sun-deck (a good thing considering the whole beach disappears when high-tide), good food (maybe a bit pricey). Dislikes: room a tad small for the price, bed way too soft, water pressure too weak (but is this a normal thing considering water conservation?) Viking is definitely a good resort but I would prefer somewhere I can hear the surf at night and a harder bed for my next visit to Samet.

Must Stay
Just come back from a weekend here and think this should be one of the top picks!! A small hotel with only 9 bungalows, the staff here are excellent and very accommodating, though English is limited. Food and drinks are great and the hotel has an excellent sand terrace out front that lends itself to chilling out for the day. Rooms are great, very comfortable beds and very clean. Hotel bar has live sports for those in need too. We were quoted THB1200pn (though this could have been a group rate). Definitely worth a visit.

Nice Location
Bugalows nice and clean, beach with a great facility in a great location. this is very personal endeavor, however, speaks not so good English. Service is good only to eat the prices are too high. the restaurants in the environment have more choice and cheaper.
