Description
Located on the southern end of Ao Wong Duen, Vong Duern Villa is one of the best accommodation options on Ko Samet. The stylish whitewashed bungalows are set around a starkly landscaped garden of white orchids and fuchsia bougainvillea. The simple white furnishings are contemporary and hip, and give the rooms a relaxed beach atmosphere. Beds are comfortable, and have fresh white linen. Friendly staff are a big plus as is the chilled restaurant, which looks out over the crashing surf. Vong Duern Villa absorbed the similarly hip Talebure Bed and Bar property some time ago.

Four of us stayed in delux room for 1800B/night. The room was clean and nice, though not enough furniture. Only two double beds and a small table. Good location on the slope with a beautiful view of the sea. We did not like the restaurant: slow service, overpriced food. But there were a lot of other nice restaurants on the beach.

The bungalows are nice, albeit a bit expensive for what you get but that seems to be the way things are going on Samet these days. However, the previous poster was probably being too kind about the restaraunt staff-had our worst meal in Thailand here so be warned. No one here was particularly friendly, they really need to do some work on their service.
