Compared to the large, loud resorts that typify Haad Sai Kaew, Skyhigh Resort is charmingly understated. With its white doors and pale blue exterior, it has the look of a 1950s motel -- though some have compared it to a Florida retirement village. Its large rooms are clean and decorated with inviting bright colours, and the welcoming staff are eager to please. For the rates, however, these rooms aren't great value. There are two rows of rooms: one of large suites right on the beach, and a quieter row of smaller rooms behind. The back rooms are smaller but still comfortable, and have secluded porches overgrown with bougainvillea. Rooms are very basic but comfortable and have air-con, TV, and refrigerators. The restaurant is decent and all rooms include breakfast. Popular on weekends.
