This two-storey motel-like place is set on artificial-looking landscaped paths, but the pink and aqua rooms are clean and come with all amenities. The best options here are the more private bungalows on stilts to the rear. The place is conveniently located and constantly busy, though it has little in the way of charm. Being so central, it can get noisy in the evenings. Rates include breakfast but not tax.

By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. Great place to stay - 23rd August, 2008
I don't know why they trash this place in the intro, but I've stayed here several times. Walk in price for a 'fan' room was 500 baht (no breakfast. low season). The best location, friendly staff, clean room and comfortable bed. I'll stay here many more times.

Enough to stay but, not luxury. - 3rd May, 2008
I think the Bangalow in the Samed Island costs little bit exepensive.
I stayed 1 night at Sai Kaew Villa with my friends. The room rate is around 1300B.The room has 2-queen size beds,A/C,toilet and water shower(not hot water). It is clean but some people feel it's dim whem the room light is turned on.

Our fave! - 24th January, 2008
I like this place, WE like this place. Friendly, easy stroll out front to beach. Great on-sand restaurant and if we want a fireshow we get to walk a little on the beach. So it's quieter that Ploy Talay. Plor Resort was a dump. This isn't Ko Phangan's Mai Pen Rai bungalows or Bottle Beach, but it's friendly and the setup has character. Old Samet is gone but this is fun and safe. #202 and 203 are big 3 bed family huts in the air. They've a common wall so don't gross out the kids nextdoor mum&dad!
