Remark Pu-Zi Hut

Simple and quiet

What we say: 3 stars

In a quiet, private area, Remark Pu-Zi acknowledges its seaside position with a reception area made out of an old wooden fishing boat. Formerly called Baan Ta Lay, it's down an alleyway to the right just before the pier. Five rows of simple but generously-sized huts made from bamboo and wood with a leaf roof are on offer, all with private cold-water/western toilet bathrooms. The rooms are well made but a tad close together. A small sala has hammocks in which to while away the time and absorb the serenity of the bay and the garden has well tended lawns. In the rainy season prepare to be serenaded by the most amazing chorus of frogs in nearby marshlands. There's also a gallery with many works by Ko Chang artists and others who like to capture the island's beauty on canvas. Being so close to the pier could be an issue in the morning if you like to sleep in; most boats start moving from around 8.30am, some earlier.
