Saffron on the Sea

Peaceful and pretty

Right on a small strip of beach, Saffron on the Sea has a slightly bohemian feel. Each bungalow has a different style, some double tiered with gorgeous views, others brightly lit with a funky bathroom, others with unblocked sea front views. Generous sized rooms are fairly simple, but have some nice decorative touches. They all come with air-con are also endowed with English-language TV and a hot shower, some with a fridge. Bathrooms are attractive jungle style, with shower water cascading from an elephant's head, and a bucket flush toilet for authenticity. Guests can use their kayaks free of charge. The prices aren't cheap, but then you're paying for the exclusivity and the tranquillity as well as the room. The highlight here is the restaurant. The wonderful cooks serve food which wouldn't be out of place in an upmarket Bangkok hotel. Except it's in a setting far more peaceful and beautiful than Bangkok and the price tag is half as much. To stay here without trying the pork and shrimp wrap starter would be criminal.
