Budget digs on the inland road
Ko Chang is so big, we’ve split it up into areas, select one of the below for detailed accommodation and food listings in that area. Sights and general overviews for Ko Chang as a whole can be found via the icons above. Don’t know where to start? Read an overview of Ko Chang’s different areas.
This long-running English-Thai owned guesthouse is set on a quiet side lane that runs inland from the main drag, between the north and south parts of the beach.
It's less than a 10-minute walk to the sand from here. The whole place has a yellow and green theme, with rooms set on a sloping hillside. The cheapest "cabin" editions are basic concrete bungalows with nothing more than a bed (or two), fan, couple of windows and wood bench out front. A newer concrete block looms high above at the rear of the property, and this is where you'll find the larger fan and air-con rooms with extras like TV and fridge. There's not a whole lot of character in the rooms, which is probably because there seems to usually be a few characters hanging around at the open-air restaurant set next to a large fountain. A few interesting little cafes are also located on this road, and next door you'll find the eccentric (but more rundown) Tuk Tuk Guesthouse, which offers basic bungalows at similar rates.
