15 Palms & Palm Garden
Pleasant, clean, good value by the beach

What we say:
The accommodation at 15 Palms is on the beach near the restaurant and bar, the other half on the other side of the road is now renamed Palm Garden, run by the same management. It has a decidedly English feel and this is the place to come if you want to see the latest European Cup soccer match on a big screen. Stylish red terracotta stucco with wooden detail, the beachside building is attractive, with a handful of rooms just behind which have air-con, TV and hot shower. For the price its good value, but there's not really any proper balcony -- although the beach is only metres away. In a tumbledown garden across the road is Palm Garden somewhat of a work in progress, but good value for White Sands Beach. Pleasant clean rooms are air-con and have English-language TV, fridge, safety box and hot shower. Breakfast is not included, but the 15 Palms restaurant has a huge following due to their excellent English breakfast, as well as some tasty Thai food. The same group also manages Paddy's Palms Irish Bar, which has rooms also. A free shuttle transfers customers from the two locations. Please be aware that 15 Palms is close to the sewage canal and when there is a breeze the disgusting smell can waft into the restaurant here, which totally puts you off your meal. This may affect rooms also, so do a smell test before you book in!)

Pukka....!
We stayed over Christmas and New Year 07/08. Our room was at the back of the restaurant on the balcony. You really couldn't ask for a better location, right on the beach. Room was really spacious with air-con, TV, bathroom, hot water, fridge and safe. Room cleaned every day. We stayed for 10 nights and had breakfast in the beautiful beachfront restaurant every morning, where they served cereal, toast, full English, omelettes etc... big leather sofas and teak dining furniture... very chilled. In the evenings the staff put mats, cushions, tables and lamps on the beach so you could enjoy your cocktails 'al fresco'. English owners have put a lot of thought into this place. Had a tough time dragging ourselves away as everything was spot on... food, ambience, friendly staff, top tunes and the best stocked bar on the island! 15 palms... see you next year!
