Calm and cozy
Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
Trat Province
Tel: (081) 9004 993, (039) 551 472

Description
In the shadows of some noisy neighbours, Pen's has a bunch of typical thatched bungalows with new looking matresses and views of the beach. There's a big, cozy, sit-on-the-floor restaurant upstairs. The 500B price tag might seem expensive to some, but it's really a bargain for this part of White Sands as it means you're right amongst the action, but can have a quiet night too, if you want one.

Total rooms: 9

Bungalow fan private b'room
400 THB (low season) 500 THB (high season)

Independent Bo
102/2 Moo 4, Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
If ever there was a competition to decide the bungalow operation with the funkiest decor in Thailand, Independent Bo would have to be high on the list. Murals on the side of every wall, decorations eclectically drawn from all corners of the globe and a generaous use of red make independent Bo a... more

Arunee Resort
7/7 Moo 4, Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
Hotel wooden-style rooms hold the heat at the friendly, family-run Arunee Resort. Small rooms are clean and pretty basic, with a fan, squat toilet and cold shower. Overpriced, they are nonetheless among the cheapest in Haad Sai Khao. There's also a small internet... more

White Sand Beach Resort
1/1 Moo 3, Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
This little-known but huge resort is set at the very top of White Sands Beach, well away from the crowds. There's a large range of concrete, weatherboard and bamboo huts spread along a fairly quiet stretch of beach. Rooms are simple, not overly clean and many of the double-beds are really just two... more

Rock Sand
Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
Access the beach from the first walkway next to the 7-Eleven, turn right, and you'll run into Rock Sand. Guests have a choice between the bungalows on stilts that look out to the ocean and those that don't. Rooms are larger than average and are reasonably clean. There's a restaurant with a good... more

May La Mean Bungalow
102/1 Moo 4, Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
Quiet and unassuming, May La is a good cheapie for those who want to be close the action of White Sands Beach but still be able to get some sleep after they leave the party. Rooms are quite fresh-looking fibro numbers and there's a decent little restaurant that can seat about 20. May La is nestled... more

Star Beach Bungalows
Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
Star Beach's high-season rates seem expensive for essentially the same kind of room you can get just a few doors down for half the price. Still, there's very friendly Thai staff and the restaurant is excellent. Rooms are basic, but subtly decorated, and some have large deckchairs on their balconies... more

Chang Bar
Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
The Chang Bar is a loud-and-proud testament to the principal that backpackers can still find somewhere cheap to stay on White Sands. The owner's name is Chang and it's also the bar's bestselling brew. The reasonable prices and anything-goes atmosphere attract a steady stream of revellers. The... more

Sang Aroon Bungalows
Haad Sai Khao, Ko Chang
Sang Aroon Consists of a small group of closely-packed purple bungalows in about the middle the stretch of sand at White Sands Beach.
