Ban Thai

Elegant surroundings, attention to detail

Stunning, compact gardens lead from the main streets Balinese style entrance down to a pretty beachfront restaurant at Ban Thai, accompanied by the gentle sounds of the flowing water features. The narrow building features smallish but lovely air-con rooms with fridge, minibar and TV, hidden behind a quaint wooden door. Creatively decorated bathrooms have shower water flowing from the trunk of a stone elephant's head, with other beautiful decorative touches, and a stock of toiletries. Rooms are perhaps a touch dated compared to the latest offerings on White Sand beach, but if you're looking for character then this place wins hands down.

By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms.
