Porn is the name of the owner... not an indication of the activities that go on in this quiet and secluded guesthouse. Wooden bungalows of varying quality and style line a private stretch of sandy beach, facing out to sea and a view of nearby islands. Rooms range from very basic and quite well used to larger, newer, more comfortable solid wooden bungalows with Thai-style bathroom. A bunch of the larger rooms have been fitted with air-con units recently due to continued demand. They're not bad value although they have no other mod-cons like fridge or safe. Despite the isolated spot there is a huge bar/restaurant with a funky, relaxed atmosphere and tree house-style chill out space where regular black moon parties are held. This is worth checking out for the intimate and laid back atmosphere. During high season they have a nightly BBQ on the beach. Seating in predominantly on mats and cushions around low tables on the beach let by lanterns, though the scale of this is obviously dependant on the tide. On a busy night there's a wonderful atmosphere, usually some kind of fire show, and the quirky accompaniment of Sheesha Pipes with a variety of tobaccos available. Access by foot by going to Kai Bay Beach Resort and following the beach south about 600m (past Mam Kai Bae), or for cars/bikes head south from Kai Bae, up the hill and take the turning to Sea View Resort. Follow road down the hill and look for turning on the right.

Great!

Beachfront bungalows very nice with the tide water coming up under the terrace, but there are not many of them and you can´t book in advance. Paid 900 baht for a beachfront, no AC, just fan. Other bungalows old and dirty. Restaurant very good and surroundings very nice.

a bit overpriced but great restaurang

It isnt worth 600 bath for a bungalow with a fan and a doublebed and a basic toilet. But the location and the resturant is fantastic. The food is so good and its lovely in the evenings with all the candles. The beach is nice too and its very quiet.

Absolute bliss..

What can I say, this place was magic. I stayed here with my partner and our two young children, in the very same beach hut pictured above. The hut, although very basic, was adequately clean and had running water, shower and electricity. (I can't speak for the other huts but in my opinion, if anything, they looked better maintained than our ramshackle job.) If you want to escape from it all, I can think of no better place. The beach itself was clean and best of all extremely quiet. And the neighbouring restuarant made it even better - very very chilled out atmosphere, extremely friendly and at ease. All in all, a superb place to stay, if you don't mind roughing it a bit, but, at the end of the day, that's what a hut on the beach is surely all about? Out of our 2 month SE Asia jaunt, this was a definite highlight. 3c
