K.B. Resort
Pleasantly quiet bungalows at inflated prices

What we say:
The fact that this business recently changed it's name from KB Bungalows to K.B. Resort tells you something about the direction accommodation is headed on Ko Chang, ever upwards. Set back off both the road and the shoreline, the resort has a collection of wooden bungalows, all at rather inflated prices. Attractive, largish wooden bungalows are quite recently built. Fan rooms come in a couple of sizes, with a choice of cold or hot shower in a decently tiled green bathroom with open top shower. Air-con rooms are more stylish, with a fridge but no TV and a selection of toiletries. Although the rooms are clean and sturdy they have absolutely no frills. A restaurant protrudes out over the water on stilts, with a small selection of books to swap. They recently added a swimming pool, and the beach here is decent. Overall it's a great location but very overpriced; we stayed here five years ago for 400B during peak season -- the same room is now 1,150B and hasn't changed one iota.

Additional info
Travelfish incorrectly says the air-con rooms at K.B Resort have no TV. They do have TVs, and the prices aren't out of place with other resorts on Chang. Koh Chang is one of the more expensive islands in Thailand and we checked out about 10 resorts. This was one of the best and the rooms and atmosphere are worth the money. We visited more expensive resorts with inferior rooms and atmosphere. In two years the rooms have only increased 200B, which isn't much. The resort gets ranked #2 on Tripadvisor and rightly so. I don't know how Travelfish only gives it 6/10. It's closer to 8 or 9.

Great place, tasty food
The bungalows here are lovely, charming and medium sized, set in a relaxed garden. Food at the restaurant was very good. Only negative is the beach is rocky but many beaches on Chang are. Overall a great place to stay.
