Description
Another example of an older resort being done up to attract higher paying guests, Siam Bay is the best in the chain of Koh Chang Siam guesthouses. On a small promontory with a secluded sandy beach, newly-built square white bungalows are dominated by the large white hotel under construction behind them. This blocks the beach view of the mountains, but provides a sea and island panorama for the occupants. The white bungalows are quite funky, with modern Thai design elements, and boast air-con, Thai TV and a hot shower. On the rocky side of the promontory - and the beautifully designed swimming pool - away from the prime beach position stand the older bungalows. Those in the cheapest range are a bit shabby, but for those who are on a budget, yet just have to have the cool of air-con, this is the best deal you'll find.

K.B. Resort
10/16 Moo 4 Kai Bae, Ko Chang
The fact that this business recently changed it's name from KB Bungalows to K.B. Resort tells you something about the direction accommodation is headed on Ko Chang, ever upwards. Set back off both the road and the shoreline, the resort has a collection of wooden bungalows, all at rather inflated... more

Kai Bae Beach Resort
10/5 Moo 4, Kai Bae, Ko Chang
Charming simple little wooden bungalows at Kai Bae Beach Resort have a small fan, clean bathroom, hot shower and western toilet. Air-con bungalows are made of cement and are less charming, but larger and better equipped with satellite TV and a fridge. Well spaced, many bungalows are directly on the... more

Coral Resort
10/1 Moo 4 Kai Bae Beach, Ko Chang
As at May 2006, Coral Resort was closed for renovations with plans to reopen in... more

Kai Bae Hut Resort
10/3 Moo 4, Kai Bae, Ko Chang
One of the few places in town where fan rooms have a hot shower, Kaibae Hut is clean and sterile with concrete bungalows in rigid rows. More modern, larger wooden bungalows to one side are painted an unfortunate yellow, but inside have satellite TV and fans. As you walk down the path to reception... more

Laluna Guesthouse
51/3 Moo 4, Kai Bae, Ko Chang
Laluna Guesthouse has pleasant, clean, simple and functional rooms with air-con, fan and satellite TV are right in the heart of Kai Bae's shopping strip. All rooms have a TV and hot water in the showers. Handy for restaurants and bars at night, but a bit far from the... more

Lek Bar
Kai Bae, Ko Chang
Attached to the back of a large and popular bar on the main street of Kai Bae, this guesthouse is perhaps recommended only for those who are planning on spending most of their evenings in the establishment itself. It is certainly not a great choice for anyone wanting quiet seclusion. That being... more
