With a fine beachfront location towards the south of Kai Bae beach, Mam has outgrown its humble bungalow beginnings and now offers a couple of air-con choices.
Made of dark wood and some reached by steep staircases that weren't made for drunks, the most basic bungalows are clean and furnished with firm bed, mosquito net, private hot water bathroom and sizeable front porch. The addition of TVs make these even better value than they already were. Set on a large block with cracking sea views, standard air-con rooms lack character but are clean, comfortable and fitted with TV, fridge and air-con. Topped by a rooftop pool with even more commanding views, the priciest rooms are larger and have wide glass doors, though the views are actually better from the standard editions. Mam has a small restaurant, Thai massage, beach loungers, kayaks and bicycles for rent, though we weren't too happy to hear that WiFi goes for 30 baht per day. The resort is popular with Russians.
