Koh Chang Tropicana Resort and Spa
Simple, beautiful and natural

What we say:
The grounds at Tropicana Resort are stunning. Winding wooden bridges lead over streams which run past rows of hotel-style rooms and down to the beach, via mature gardens with plenty of huge palms. A large swimming pool looks out to sea, and nearby the spa offers sauna, massage, treatments and Jacuzzi. Fully-equipped rooms are quite stunning; vaulted wooden ceilings, King sized beds, solid hardwood furniture, TV, fridge, safe -- generally an overall finish which leaves a lasting impression. The bathrooms are also gorgeous, with expensive turquoise ceramic tiles and classy marble basins; most rooms have an indoor and outdoor shower, the latter having an open roof to allow the sunlight and fresh air in. It's not the cheapest hotel, but remains solid value for money. It sits on a prime piece of beach land in the centre of Khlong Prao, beside the Barali Resort. The beach front restaurant serves both Thai and International fare, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Tropicana
The hotel is beautiful, I'd say one of the best of the island and definitely good price-quality relationship. Unfortulately the weather was absolutely terrible when we were there, but the service at the hotel was really great.
