Situated at the northern end of Khlong Prao Beach, Chai Chet is a rocky peninsular jutting out into the sea and upon which sits Chai Chet Bungalows. A small collection of concrete bungalows run up the peninsula, endowed with a hot water shower, comfortable bed and a fridge. The rooms are quite small and aren't very stylish, but they are clean and comfy, with shaded balconies out front and killer views. Their hotel-style rooms have more upgraded conveniences and are quite a bit larger, with a few decorating touches, Chinese-style -- although the balconies are shared so lack a touch of privacy. This resort is well set-up for conference junkets, with a conference room that holds 200. The piece de resistance however is the stunning swimming pool, arguably the most beautiful pool on the island with its multi tiered edges and elephant fountains. With its lounging area providing awesome views towards Kai Bae, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in a far more exclusive resort. If you want to lounge around the pool all day sipping cocktails whilst not blowing your budget, look no further.

Chai Chet Bungalows reviews

Read 5 opinions from Travelfish readers

re Description - 17th April, 2007
Travelfish above says ''hotel style rooms'' have air-con etc. Well the ones I refer to are not hotel style but private separate cabins up on the hillside. See photos on their web. Lovely!

Lovely Bungalow - 6th December, 2005
Weekly rate 500B and 1,000B high season, better ones are private on hillside, see website photo, new air-con with remote, huge nice bath, huge tinted windows, fridge, safe, satellite TV. Nothing that nice for 1,000 in BKK!!!!

Great air-con rooms - 24th April, 2008
Air-con rooms here are about four-star standard and only about 1200B. Excellent value. Fan rooms are too small. Breakfast is not so good and the resort receives a number of Thai bus tours from Bangkok. Location is only average but the room is excellent for the price.

Stayed Twice - 10th May, 2007
My wife and I stayed here in March 07 for 3 nights and 4 nights two weeks later. The second time we stayed around at the headland which had very clean private air con bungalows with tinted windows. We couldn't fault the amenities here with hot showers, fridge great beds. Top location at end of beach.Only real complaint was the breakfasts very ordinary for paying 1400bht a night. Had to pay for extra tea or coffee so ended up going to coconut resort for all you can eat fantastic breakfast up the beach a little. Office staff a little offhand.
