Description
Chai Chet is well known for its popular seafood restaurant. At the top end of Chai Chet Beach, views extend past colourful moored fishing boats. This view is enjoyed by concrete bungalows, identical to those at every other standard resort in town. They are endowed with a cold shower, squat toilet and fan, but feature a couple of extras such as a safety box and limited toiletries. Their hotel-style rooms have more upgraded conveniences: hot shower, western toilet, fridge, TV (not really with English), air-con and a few decorating touches, Chinese-style. This resort is well set-up for conference junkets, with a conference room that holds 200.

Great air-con rooms - ![]()

Air-con rooms here are about four-star standard and only about 1200B. Excellent value. Fan rooms are too small. Breakfast is not so good and the resort receives a number of Thai bus tours from Bangkok. Location is only average but the room is excellent for the price.

After going to Lonely beach and only finding run-down bungalows for about 5-600 Baht, I was very pleased to find Chai Chet resort. I had one of the most basic bungalows at the resort right on the waterfront and I only paid 1000 Bt including breakfast in the high season! It was fine for my purposes...a huge bed, AC, safe, beautiful window facing the bay, two big towels, and they would clean the room everyday upon request. Also, this resort is very aesthetically pleasing, from the beautiful restaurant with one of the hugest menus I've ever seen to the pool and the massage beds. I rented a motorbike and drove into many resorts on the island and I would have to say Chai Chet was one of the more beautiful, and it's right on a cape so you can enjoy the sunrise AND the sunset. The only thing I didn't like were the people staying there- older snobby Europeans or else families. Myself, being a young Canadian, didn't fit in with them at all. It was very quiet at night, so I would usually head down to white sand beach for the nightlife, which is only a 10 minute scooter ride north. Eventually I got so sick of the people there I moved south to Lonely Beach, where the crowd was much more my style. Anyways, I would highly recommend this place to anybody who can afford 1000 Bt per night and wants to feel as if they're staying at a place they should be paying double for!

My wife and I stayed here in March 07 for 3 nights and 4 nights two weeks later. The second time we stayed around at the headland which had very clean private air con bungalows with tinted windows. We couldn't fault the amenities here with hot showers, fridge great beds. Top location at end of beach.Only real complaint was the breakfasts very ordinary for paying 1400bht a night. Had to pay for extra tea or coffee so ended up going to coconut resort for all you can eat fantastic breakfast up the beach a little. Office staff a little offhand.

Tfish above says ''hotel style rooms'' have air etc. Well the ones I refer to are not hotel style but private seperate cabins up on the hillside. See photos on their web. Lovely!

So nice I had to return. The web pub price may be discounted by paying one week in advance.

Weekly rate 500B and 1,000B high season, better ones are private on hillside, see website photo, new air-con with remote, huge nice bath, huge tinted windows, fridge, safe, satellite TV. Nothing that nice for 1,000 in BKK!!!!

No-frills, thatched huts lined the beach at this relative newcomer to Khlong Prao, opened in 2005. The incorporated Tiger Bar has a pool table and a cool chill-out area.
