Description
Set up like an old-time country inn, Iyara Garden Village has two rows of adjoined rooms facing in to a garden and bar. Rooms are large and long, with an ante-chamber sitting room. Each has a phone, Thai TV, fridge and hot shower. Sitting areas are fan-cooled, while bedrooms have air-con. An interesting feature at the back of the central bar (which itself has a few pieces of gym equipment), is a large rock climbing wall. Staff claim that you can rock climb for 100 baht per person, but overgrown foliage at the base indicate that no one has done this in quite a while. Jetskis and kayaks can also be rented through their sister seafood restaurant at the next beach.

Total rooms: 14

Standard - Double
600 THB (low season) 1,200 THB (high season)

Baan Rim Nam
Khlong Prao, Ko Chang
This out-of-the-way guesthouse is set in one of the most gorgeous spots on the island. A private residential area, the back deck looks out over a small river running towards the sea. On of a row of brightly painted fishing houses, the spot is accessed by a long wooden walkway through mangroves.... more

KP Hut
51 Moo 4, Klong Prao, Ko Chang
KP Hut covers large grounds, with a private sandy beach by the sea. Bungalows and huts are well looked after but fairly basic: generally windowless, they vary in size and style. Right by the beach, bamboo treehouses on stilts will appeal to bohemian backpackers, while more solid bamboo and wood... more

3 Seasons Bungalow
Khlong Prao, Ko Chang
On the other side of the road, nowhere near a beach, these newly built bungalows sit in a well-maintained garden in the middle of nowhere. Very pleasant rooms vary a little in size, and those with a bigger balcony are blessed with a hammock. Fan or air-cooled, these large clean rooms have a TV with... more

Boutique Resort and Health Spa
17/5 Moo 4 Klongprao, Ko Chang
Teensy compact rooms in wooden thatched bungalows are packed into a small garden space. Rooms are pleasant enough with Thai TV, fridge, phone and a natural-look stone paved bathroom with hot shower and basic toiletries. The back opens onto a balcony set in a small private garden. Prices can be a... more

Coconut Beach
17/2 Moo 4, Khlong Prao, Ko Chang
This ornate palace of concrete is certainly fascinating, with an attempt at old-style grandeur going a little over the top. Inside, rooms are quite pleasing and a little less intricate and frilly than their exterior; however, despite the effort that has gone into the design, they are missing a bit... more

VJ Plaza and Apartment
19/8 Moo 4, Khlong Prao, Ko Chang
Rooms in this huge, apartment block style building are popular with visitors staying for at least a month in Khlong Prao. There are air-con and fan rooms and both types are clean but fairly characterless. You don't exactly get the feeling of staying in a beachside resort town when you're here, but... more
