Thale Bungalows
Basic huts right on the beach

What we say:
On a gorgeous, private stretch of sand, Thale is one of the cheapest options if you want to stay directly on the beach. Standing in a long row looking out to sea, these very basic wooden huts all share a bathroom. Fan-cooled, they feature hard mattresses on a slightly raised platform. The rooms are all sat on pleasant grass lawn, a top spot for slouching around under the shade whilst having the beach a stones throw away. The large palm-covered spot also has an open-air restaurant and funky chill out zone, the decking of which is almost jutting out into the sea; a cracking spot for sunset. The owner is also responsible for Larb jazz restaurant on Kai Bae Beach. Very often full so be prepared to grab a room at a nearby resort whilst waiting for a room to come free... people here have a habit of staying longer than planned so as such the management don't accept reservations. When a room is free, next in line takes it. Turning up early gives you a better chance of finding a room. (ie. As people check out)

Very comfortable
Walked down from the crappy new Tiger Huts and found this lovely place. Friendly owner, good restaurant, great location, and other dining spots are just a walk down the beach if you don't feel like renting a motorcycle to go to the main road. A phenomenal deal for the incredibly low price, and be sure you spend a lazy afternoon listening to the owner's music and watching the beach go by.
