Hotel rooms tucked back from the beach

What we say:

This is a newly built hotel directly behind the Khlong Prao temple. It's just 300 metres from the beach, separated by a barren tract of land which will undoubtedly become developed sometime soon. For now however the lack of building offers a pleasant front garden for VJ Residence, one of three outfits from this group. The rooms are a good size, with fridge, hot water, air-con and cable TV, though don't expect many English language channels. The rooms are furnished with wardrobe, table and chairs and a decent balcony too; they're clean and presentable without being overly flash -- similar to a cheap studio condo/apartment. Downstairs there's a large restaurant which serves breakfast. Breakfast is inclusive, but you can negotiate the price to not include breakfast and save a few hundred baht -- a much better option, particularly as Crust Bakery is at the other side of the temple and serves excellent meals and breads. The Hotel does have a decent swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers which hardly ever seems to get used; nevertheless it's cleaned daily.
