Baan Pai

A cheap choice
Khlong Chao, Ko Kut
Trat Province
Tel: (086) 8247 164
Description
Baan Pai is a small, barely-English-speaking Thai family operation set well back from the beach at Khlong Chao behind Khlong Chao Sea View. Rooms are sparse and very old, but it's a good, cheap choice of you can't find anywhere else to rest your head. Toilets are not cleanest and are basic squat, bucket flush jobs. The family run a small restaurant on a platform overlooking the mangrove forest and river estuary.

At first we don't know where to stay on Koh Kut but we hear from a Thai webboard suggested to Ban Pai. When we arrive at Koh Kut, we directly check Ban Pai the rooms and compare prices to the places nearby and find out the Ban Pai is the most comfortable one for both price and room. The Thai family there are very friendly and generous. On the first day, there is a boy used to work at Ban Pai take us to visit KlongChao waterfall. He doesn't intend to charge anything with us but we give him a small money for his kindness and at night the other boy bring us to see firefly whereas with other resort you have to pay for the bus but this one is free. On the other we do kayaking up the canal to see waterfall again and no charge for kayaking at all. Mr.Anulak, the owner, he doesn't get much benefit from this homestay but he just want to set up win-win relationship with the guest. So I will go back Ban Pai again, hopefully end of this year :) ~Love Koh Kut~

Well it was my friend not me who stayed and he says this review is true. Good location. He rented a small motor boat and explored up and down from this central location.

Ko Kut
With no real discernible sea view, but only a short walk to the beach, this budget guesthouse is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Khlong Chao, Ko Kut
S-Beach Resort has a group of bungalows on a hill behind a huge open-air restaurant. From the outside the rooms look like small weatherboard flats rather than the usual beach bungalows.
