Khlong Chao Resort

Hiding around a corner on the way to the Khlong Chao waterfall is this same-named resort, it's sign sitting among a pile of old junk inside the gateway. The restaurant and staff house is down a long jetty next to the river, and the bungalows are spread around on higher ground. The rooms are big and fairly comfortable and are not too bad value for Ko Kut. Diving trips can also be arranged here through Paradise Divers. The place does look pretty run down, but then that's the style here, low key and unpretentious. The family are true locals who have spent their lives fishing the local area, so you can find no better guide if you fancy a spot of snorkelling or fishing. Out on the riverfront they have a bunch of kayaks and the owners son can direct you where to find the fireflies in the evening.

Khlong Chao Resort reviews

Horrible - 14th June, 2009
The resort was empty but we were put in a bungalow that was mouldy, rickety and in the trees so it was dark. They charged 750B. The local staff (one woman) was friendly. We stayed a night and moved to Mangrove Bungalows which is next door and a great place. I would not recommend Khlong Chao Resort.
