Happy Days
Friendly and clean guest house

What we say:
Situated in a convenient corner just off the main road through Klong Chao, Happy Days is probably the best of the budget options if you don't have to be directly on the beach front. Set perhaps 150 metres from the beach it's only a few minutes walk, and it's also right beside the Sunset Bar and restaurant which is arguably the most happening location during the evenings. Rooms are set into a huge teakwood house, with 10 spotlessly clean and comfy rooms equipped with fan and air-con, spacious bathrooms and a comfy mattress, although they are on the floor with no bed. There is also television, but as it has no English channels seems a little pointless for somewhere aimed at tourists. There's a massive communal decking with a few hammocks strung up, and downstairs is a small garden complete with pet monkey 'Moulin', a friendly little local who is a favourite with the camera crew. There's internet available, and local firm Paradise Divers run a booking office out of here.
